Ginsberg Receives Back-to-Back Promotions

Dr. Stephen Ginsberg has been promoted to Research Scientist VII in his New York State position with the Office of Mental Health. Dr. Ginsberg has also been a long-time NYU faculty member and, in October 2024, was promoted to Professor at the Grossman School of Medicine, Departments of Psychiatry and Neuroscience and Physiology.

Established in 2001, the Ginsberg Lab, located at NKI’s CDR, aims to understand the molecular and cellular substrates that regulate selective vulnerability of neurons to degeneration. Particular emphasis is placed upon analyzing the interactomes of individual neuronal populations as a means of understanding the complex cascade of cellular events that occurs under pathologic conditions such as aging, the Alzheimer’s disease (AD) spectrum from no cognitive impairment (NCI) to mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to AD, and Down syndrome (DS), as well as employing relevant animal and cellular models of neurodegenerative disorders.

Congratulations Dr. Ginsberg!
