NIH Awards Collaborative Grant to Levy and Mathews
Dr. Efrat Levy and Dr. Paul Mathews of the CDR received funding for a project titled, “Apolipoprotein E genotype modulates brain mitovesicle production, a component of mitochondrial quality control.” The three-year RF1 grant from NIH will examine the role of mitovesicles in maintaining mitochondrial function in neurons, determining the interrelationship between the most important Alzheimer’s disease-risk gene, apolipoprotein E, and mitovesicle generation, mitochondrial health, and the impact of the mitovesicle system on neuron function.
